EU skyddar internetanvändare?

SvD rapporterar:

Paketet innehåller en rad direktiv och förslag på nya lagar inom telekomområdet – allt från att inrätta en ny EU-myndighet för telekomfrågor till utbyggnad av bredband i Europa.Men det är inte dessa frågor som hamnat i fokus – istället har debatten varit hård om två ändringsförslag som EU-parlamentet tidigare röstat för men som ministerrådet strök inför den andra läsningen. Ändringsförslagen 138 och 166 handlar om öppenheten på internet och möjligheten att stänga av till exempel fildelare från nätet.
- Jag är väldigt lättad och glad. Och extremt trött. Det blev nej med stor majoritet. Utskottet sa i princip ja till innehållet i telekomförhandlingarna men nej till den kontroversiella biten, säger Lena Ek (C) till SvD.se. Hon fortsätter:
- Vi fick nästan hela utskottet med oss. Det kommer att bli tuffa förhandlingar nu. Nu prövas det tjeckiska ordförandeskapet och om de inte lyckas så blir det inget telekompaket alls.

Nu är den avgörande frågan om det skydd som industriutskottet i EU-parlamentet beslöt sig för att stödja är tillräckligt. Innebär tillägg 138/46 att telekompaketet kommer att accepteras/gillas av internetaktivister och debattörer?

Dessutom återstår att se vad som händer den 5 maj då den slutgiltiga omröstningen hålls i EU-parlamentet. Samt hur ministerrådet ställer sig i sitt beslut den 12 maj.
